These numbers have not been altered in any way. They can be verified simply by running the same test on a single cpu 866 MHZ PIII.

Summary

This test was created with an older version of the pivot.xls spreadsheet. However, the results should be nearly identical since the same amount of data was inserted.

According to the Report below, the pivot.xls spreadsheet was successfully created 1,279,969 times with no failures in a 48 hour period. Each time, 300 rows of 9 column string and numeric data retrieved from an Access database using ADO was inserted into the pivot.xls spreadsheet.

There were 1,279,969 hits and 1,279,969 successful generations and downloads. In the real-world this will be limited by the speed of the network connection. There was not a single failure.

The average generation time per spreadsheet was 129 milliseconds.

Perhaps most important of all was the fact that there was the same amount of memory available after generation as before.
