KB21 - Why does Excel ask me to save the document when clicking on a hyperlink?

Description

Excel displays a "Save Changes" dialog after you clicked on a hyperlink that exists within the Excel spreadsheet that you are viewing inline in the browser.

Solution

There is no way around this. This occurs in all spreadsheets that include formulas. This kind of error also occurs with other Excel Spreadsheet generator programs.

If you open the document outside of the browser, in Excel itself then this error will not occur. It only occurs when viewing a spreadsheet inline in the browser.
